The Hero Image block provides an easy way to customize the properties of any page’s header container, as well as advanced options for sliders/carousels and video backgrounds.

By default, Red Cedar’s header container is composed of three objects: the background image, the page title and an optional subtitle. By hiding Red Cedar’s header and putting the Hero Image in its place, you gain a lot of control over the purpose and composition of the page header. Though the Hero Image block is intended primarily to replace page headers, it can also be used inline on any page to create attractive slideshows.

Use of the Hero Image block in the header is intended for top-level or landing pages, as it conflicts with the default template elements added to child pages (breadcrumbs, sidebar). In order to use the Hero Image header on a child page, you must disable breadcrumbs and the sidebar within the page configuration.
